Utah - Weber School District

Weber School District

Mr. Wilson has served Weber School District for 36 years. He was a teacher for 12 years, assistant principal or principal for 12 years and has been a district office administrator for 12 years. He is responsible for new construction, maintenance of 49 facilities, the transportation fleet of 186 buses, custodial services, land acquisition, telephone systems and energy management.

Mr. Wilson earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Teaching degree and Master of Secondary Education degree from Weber State University, as well as his Administrative Endorsement from Utah State University. He serves as treasurer for Greek Orthodox Church.

During this time it has also received six ENERGY STAR Building Certifications and has been named an ENERGY STAR Top Performer.

After six years with its energy mangement program, Idaho Falls School District has saved over $5.5 million, a 40% reduction in their energy use. The district has 17 ENERGY STAR Certified buildings and was named an ENERGY STAR Top Performer three years in a row.

At Las Cruces Public Schools, two Energy Specialists continually audit buildings and optimize existing equipment and control systems. They communicate, educate and motivate colleagues to make wise decisions about energy use and ensure comfort for students and staff during class and scheduled activities.

Utah - Ogden School District

Ogden School District
Ogden, UT

Ogden School District helped propel the City of Ogden into national energy efficiency rankings. In 2010, Ogden placed 21st in a ranking of cities with the most ENERGY STAR buildings by the Environmental Protection Agency. All but two or three of the 51 ENERGY STAR buildings in the Ogden metro area are schools. In the five years Ogden schools have been using an energy program, the district has also saved over $5 million.
